Shelter Sees 80% Increase in Demand for Homelessness Advice
The number of people helped by Shelter's housing advice
helpline who are either homeless or at risk of losing their home has increased
by 80% in the last three years. The
number of families with children needing advice about homelessness has
increased by 92% over the same period. The
new figures, released today, also show a 17% increase in visits to pages
providing homelessness advice on the Shelter website, compared to a 3% increase
