Home Adaptation Group Calls for Support

A consortium of national organisations has called for the government to make good on a commitment to continuing support for home adaptations for disabled people. The home adaptations consortium, which includes the Chartered Institute of Housing and the National Federation of Housing, is arguing that home adaptations are critical to a wide range of government policies. The group argues that as well as enabling greater independence for disabled people and carers, relatively small sums spent on home adaptations result in year on year savings, particularly through reduced costs to health and social care services.
