Government Fails To Inform Tenants Of Their Rights And Responsibilities

The Government urgently needs to provide tenants with better information on their rights and responsibilities if it is to avoid a breakdown of trust between renters and their landlords, the National Landlords Association warns. New research, commissioned by the NLA, found that over three quarters (79%) of tenants need better information about what they should expect from their landlords or agents. Worryingly, the NLA also found that more than two thirds (67%) of tenants were not aware of the Government’s How To Rent guide that is designed to help them understand their rights and responsibilities. Liverpool's PRS Tenants Get Charter

Tenants living in Liverpool's private rented sector (PRS) are to be given more information about their rights and responsibilities. The move is part of efforts to improve the quality of the city's PRS. The charter also outlines the rights and responsibilities of landlords while the pack contains information ranging from how tenants should report repairs to fire safety issues. Read more on 24dash.
