The TSA has set the scene for a new world of social housing regulation where tenants will be at the heart of decisions about their homes and how their landlords deliver services. Launching “A new regulatory framework for social housing in England”, the new approach will see a greater emphasis put on the relationship between landlords and their tenants locally, with tenants at the centre of shaping, influencing and monitoring the services they receive. The statutory consultation sets out standards for landlords, which will be at the heart of how the TSA regulates social housing in England. The standards focus on six key areas. Everyone with an interest in the future of social housing is invited to comment on the statutory consultation, which runs until 5 February 2010. The consultation document can be found on the TSA website
