Home Office Suspends Work of ASB Squad

The Home Office has suspended the work of its anti-social behaviour action squad. In an email sent to government offices and local authorities, the Home Office said the work of the anti-social behaviour action squad would be placed on hold until further notice while the department delivers ‘new ministerial priorities’. The squad was properly launched last year to help local authorities tackle areas with the highest public perceptions of anti-social behaviour. A spokesperson for the Home Office said: ‘Squad activity was suspended during the pre-election period which is normal and it is normal for it to remain so until we get a steer from ministers on their priorities.’ Read more on Inside Housing.
