Consultation on Proposed Changes to Local Housing Allowance & Housing Benefit

The Secretary of State for Work and Pensions has asked the Social Security Advisory Committee to consider proposals for the Housing Benefit (Amendment) Regulations 2010, and the associated amendments to the Rent Officers (Housing Benefit Functions Order) 2010. These measures are required in order to implement the proposed changes to the Local Housing Allowance announced in the Chancellor’s emergency budget. Before the committee considers the proposals, it is keen to receive representations from interested parties, which will be due by the 10th September.
