ALMO to Shed 100 Jobs

Doncaster Council’s arm’s-length management organisation is expecting to lose around 100 jobs as a result of anticipated £2 million cuts to its budget. St Leger Homes, which manages 21,000 houses and currently employs 740 people, is working with Doncaster Council and trade unions to offer early retirement and voluntary redundancy packages to affected employees. The ALMO will have its budget confirmed in early 2011 but said job losses are a certainty. Read more on Inside Housing.
