Community Budgets Pilots To Be Launched

In a speech to the Capita Community-Based Budgets Conference, Eric Pickles announced 16 areas for new community budgets across the country which would be the first to trial a single funding pot to tackle problem families. The community budgets will pool various national and local funding strands into a single local pot for tackling social problems around families with complex needs. Services such as job centres, housing associations, the police and social services will work together to tackle social issues. Ministers expect the scheme to help at least 10,000 families by 2015.
