Jenny Willott: To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions in what circumstances a single person with no children would be affected by the housing benefit cap; and if he will make a statement.
Steve Webb: From April 2011, the maximum local housing allowance rate for a single person with no children who claims housing benefit is £250 per week. This limit will apply in cases where the contractual rent exceeds that amount.
Ms Buck: To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions whether discretionary housing payments are to be included in the calculation for the total household benefits cap.
