The first multiple council arm’s-length management organisation has launched and will take control of 18,000 homes across Kent. Super-ALMO East Kent Housing has a 30 year contract with Canterbury, Dover, Thanet and Shepway Councils, with 220 staff transferring to the new organisation. The collaboration is expected to save over £600,000 per year in direct management costs with other savings on procurement, ICT and support service costs anticipated in future years. Tenants and leaseholders are being updated about the new organisation through a dedicated local magazine and a new website
http://www.eastkenthousing.org.uk/ . Read more on the Hawkinge Gazette website.
