A group of social enterprises working with homeless people
generates an £11 return for every £1 invested, a report has found. Analysis
service Social Return on Investment examined charity Emmaus’ communities
project and concluded reductions in substance abuse and improvements in
residents’ mental health were two benefits.
The 21 communities included in the study also showed substantial
improvements in residents’ physical health.
The majority of residents the researchers spoke to had spent time on the
