Landlords will not be expected to convert all re-lets to
affordable rents in the new funding programme, a civil servant has
stressed. Graham Duncan, deputy director
of affordable housing regulation and investment at the CLG, yesterday denied
suggestions that the new £3.3 billion funding programme marks ‘the end of
social rented properties’. This followed housing minister Mark Prisk’s comments
recently that landlords will be expected to consider all empty properties for
