A landlords group has announced its "delight"
after a council abandoned plans to introduce a city-wide selective licensing
scheme. The National Landlords Association had been fighting against Milton
Keynes City Council's licensing proposals through its local members. Last week,
the council concluded that the scheme would not solve the issues of poor
housing standards, anti-social behaviour and low housing demand in the area. The NLA is also celebrating the council's decision to cut the license fee on all
houses in multiple occupation (HMOs) from £800 to £300. Read more on the NLA
website.
