Work has just started on a £5.7 million project in
Harworth, Nottinghamshire, in what is being billed as the first major social
housing project in the district for 35 years. Bassetlaw District Council, A1
Housing and construction company Woodhead are involved in the 43 new homes on
Smith Square. The non-traditional 'Airey' houses - a pre-fabricated house built
in the 1950/60s – will be replaced with modern, energy efficient homes. Just
over £1m of government funding is coming from the Homes and Communities Agency
