New figures from the Valuation Office Agency (VOA)
revealing the number of properties banded for Council Tax has prompted the
Government to boast that it has delivered nearly 800,000 new homes across
England. Since 2009 – when Labour was last in government – the CLG highlighted
an increase of 795,000 new homes as evidence that the Government’s plans to
boost home ownership and promote housebuilding growth are working. The VOA’s
figures show how many properties there are in England covered by a Council Tax
band. “[These] figures show how our efforts have got the country building
again, with almost 800,000 additional homes delivered since the end of 2009,”
said communities secretary Greg Clark. Read more on the Housing Excellence
