The government’s failure to provide ‘clear information’
about universal credit is causing ‘frustration’ among councils, a government
report has said. Research carried out by
Ipsos Mori, on behalf of the DWP, said ‘lack of clarity’ about the timescales
for the government’s flagship welfare reform was causing ‘uncertainty’ and
‘preventing certain decisions being made’. According to figures published by
the DWP last week, 75,427 people are currently claiming universal credit, of
