Billions of pounds worth of land and buildings will be
sold to enable George Osborne to cut public spending by £20billion a year. The
Chancellor will tell ministers to identify NHS, defence and other government
assets to be disposed of, to help provide a further 150,000 new homes to ease
the housing crisis. The Ministry of Defence alone owns 227,300 hectares – 1 per
