Housing minister Brandon Lewis has promised investors and
property chiefs he will remove “red tape” that is “holding back” the
development of a more institution-delivered private rented sector. Lewis made his pledge at the RESI conference in Wales,
where he said the Government was “determined to drive out the minority of rogue
landlords” adding that “we cannot let red tape deter further investment”. The
housing minister also pressed the need for a more professional rental market
which he said would be funded by long term investment which could drive up
supply.“We’re moving away from smaller landlords to bigger
landlords creating bigger schemes and driving supply. That's why we introduced
the Build to Rent fund to create 10,000 homes for rent” he said. Read the full
