A “flagship” project that will deliver over 100 new
council homes in Nottingham is underway. The programme is being delivered by the city council and
its ALMO, Nottingham City Homes. The £9.9 million scheme will include 48 new
homes in Strelley and 54 new properties across four sites in The Meadows. Both
sites have been undergoing demolition work over the past few months, as former
council properties unfit for purpose were removed to make way for the brand new
family homes, flats and bungalows. The Meadows development is set to be the
first social housing project in the UK to be built using building information
modelling (BIM) technology – a process that involves the creation of digital 3D
models to minimise issues and maximise efficiencies. Read more on the Housing
Excellence website.
