The private rental market is in good shape following
June's Brexit result, with the number of properties available to rent at its
highest level this year, according to the Association of Residential Letting
Agents (ARLA). According to the organisation's July private rental sector (PRS)
report, the number of rental properties on letting agents’ books was 184 in
July. This is the highest number seen so far in 2016 and up 5% from June. This
presents a “positive picture for prospective tenants post-Brexit” the
organisation said. However, year-on-year supply is down, it added. In July
2015, the number of properties letting agents had registered reached an annual
high of 189 – 3% higher than this year. Download the report from the ARLA
website.
