English social landlords sold nearly 22,000 homes in
2015/16, an increase of 8% on the previous year. The latest figures from the
CLG say landlords sold 21,992 social properties in 2015/16, with the majority
of the increase in sales driven by housing associations. This makes up 0.5% of
the four million social housing stock. Housing associations sold 9,435
properties, an 18% increase on 2014/15 whereas councils sold 12,557 properties,
