Private sector rents went up 2.3% in the year to
September, according to the latest figures from the Office for National
Statistics (ONS). The rise in UK prices is unchanged from August, the
organisation’s latest Index of Private Housing Rental Prices IPHRP). In
England, private rents grew 2.5% and fell 0.1% in Scotland. They grew by 0.1%
in Wales in the 12 months to September 2016. Furthermore, rental prices
increased in all the English regions over the year to September 2016, with
rental prices increasing the most in the South East (3.5%). Read more on the
