New figures show that 21,400 households have been moved
to a different council area. They account for 29% of all homeless households
living in temporary accommodation in England. The numbers are a 15% rise on the
year before. There were 74,630 households in temporary accommodation on 30
September this year, an increase of 9% at the same point last year. The total
number of households in temporary accommodation has now risen by 55% since
2010. The figures also show the number of children in Britain who face waking
up homeless in temporary accommodation this Christmas has reached 124,090. Read
