Affordable housing delivery in England climbed 22% in
2018/19, the latest annual government figures reveal. 57,485 affordable homes
were completed in 2018/19, up from 47,124 in 2017/18. Of those delivered in 2018/19, 29,135 (51%) were for
affordable rent, while 17,024 (30%) were for shared ownership. A total of 6,287
(11%) of the homes delivered were for social rent, down from 6,679 the previous
