A leading agency claims the stamp duty holiday has
actually had a minimal impact in the mainstream market, despite many
suggestions to the contrary. Using OnTheMarket data, Knight Frank says that
last month - March - there was a 30 per cent rise in the number of properties
going under offer in England and Wales compared to the same month last year. “There
was some effect from Covid-19 towards the tail end of March last year, but the
breakdown by price band is revealing [about the impact on the market of the
