The Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) is providing £5 million to increase the use of materials from renewable sources in affordable housing. To qualify homes will have to achieve level four or above of the Code for Sustainable Homes, start on site this financial year, and use a high proportion of materials from renewable sources.
