Charity Sets Up Cheap Homes Fund

Hundreds of people could pick up cut price homes thanks to a new fund masterminded by the Empty Homes Agency. The charity has persuaded a high street bank to stump up between £7 million and £8 million for its ‘homesteading’ scheme. It will offer individuals interest-free loans to buy discounted surplus housing stock in rundown areas, on condition they renovate the property over time.
