Tenants from across Britain will come together with MPs, councillors and trade unionists on 19th March to defend the future of council housing, and demand that politicians listen to council tenants running up to the general election. Defend Council Housing believes that despite attempts to privatise and destroy decent, affordable, secure and accountable housing, a robust council housing sector has never been more important. Five million people are currently on waiting lists for a council house. Millions more live in sub-standard, overcrowded, energy inefficient homes.
