The national homelessness charity Crisis has awarded
grants to local housing projects across England thanks to additional government
funding for the charity's Private Renting Programme. The programme aims to help
2,250 homeless people find decent and stable rented accommodation over the next
two years by financially supporting 42 projects that work in local communities
in cities and towns across the country, including Blackpool, Leeds, Liverpool,
London, Manchester, Southampton and Wigan. The CLG has awarded these new funds
to Crisis to enable the charity to continue its Private Renting Programme,
which has already funded 153 projects over the past three years – helping more
