The Homes and Communities Agency is consulting staff on restructuring plans that could see its workforce cut by a third. The 90-day consultation, which began last week, suggests reducing staff numbers by 33 per cent. At present it employs nearly 1,000 people. The plans are part of the transformation of the housing and regeneration agency from a large organisation with a regional structure into a smaller ‘enabling’ institution supporting local authorities in their work. In November the agency announced plans to close 13 of its 17 offices, and reduce its director posts from 12 to nine. Its senior management restructure has now been completed, with the number of posts reporting to an executive director reduced by 25 per cent. Read more on Inside Housing.
