Mr Evennett: To ask the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government what recent representations he has received on succession rights and social housing.
Andrew Stunell: So far this year, the Department has received seven letters from Members of Parliament and members of the public on succession rights in social housing. These letters have focussed on the restrictions imposed by current legislation in this area. The Localism Bill contains provisions that will change succession rules to allow social landlords greater freedom to grant further succession rights in the light of individual circumstances.
