Benefits claimants who turn down a job will not lose their housing benefit or child benefit payments, the welfare minister has said. Chris Grayling told the Welfare Reform Bill committee that payments covering housing and support for children would not be removed when an unemployed claimant refuses to take up an offer of work. Tough sanctions in the Bill mean claimants who repeatedly refuse work could lose their benefits for up to three years. Read more on Inside Housing.
