Solihull Council has extended the contract of its ALMO Solihull Community Housing by 10 years. Established in 2004, the ALMO has gone on to deliver refurbishments to the council's housing stock via the Government's Decent Homes programme and in May this year, it unveiled its first new-build development of one-and two-bedroomed flats - the first social housing to be built in 14 years. The news comes as many councils are reviewing their contractual arrangements with their ALMOs. There has been a long-term contract renewal in Nottingham, with plans to do the same in Derby, however a number of ALMOs have also returned in-house. Read more on 24dash.
