The Government has set out its objectives for housing policy – from providing more homes to protecting the vulnerable and helping the homeless. Now it will be held to account to ensure it keeps its promises. In a report to be published this autumn, the National Housing Federation, Shelter and the Chartered Institute of Housing will set out ministers’ commitments across a range of areas, before measuring and assessing the Government’s progress in meeting them. The group anticipates that The Housing Report will become a regular publication, providing an essential resource featuring the latest statistical data across a range of indicators, to inform and shape the debate around the future of housing in Britain.
