Tenants to Lose Existing Rights in Affordable Rent Move

Tenants will lose their existing tenancy arrangements if they choose to move to an Affordable Rent home, the Government has confirmed. In the Impact Assessment for Affordable Rent, it says: "The Government has committed that existing tenants will retain their existing tenancy and rent arrangements, unless they choose to move to an Affordable Rent home." Amendments to strengthen the existing security of tenants were defeated during the Localism Bill's passage through the House of Commons in May. Read more on 24dash.
