Pickles to Appoint Head of New Social Housing Regulator

Communities secretary Eric Pickles will appoint a chair to head up the Homes and Communities Agency's (HCA) new regulation committee. The committee will take effect in April 2012 once the Tenant Services Authority (TSA) is closed and its regulatory function transferred to the HCA, subject to the passage of the Localism Bill. The HCA is also seeking to appoint two board members to replace existing members whose tenures come to an end in September 2011 - who will also be appointed by the Secretary of State.
