Housing Benefit – Parliamentary Written Answer

Kerry McCarthy: To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions what his policy is on exempting single pregnant local housing allowance claimants from the shared accommodation rate limit.
Steve Webb: No exemption is made for single pregnant claimants from the shared accommodation rate. The local authority can consider making a discretionary housing payment where they think it appropriate to meet such a need.
