ALMO Moves Back In-House

Plans for Redbridge Council to directly manage its housing stock have been given the go-ahead after tenants and leaseholders backed proposals to take the ALMO back in-house. The move will mean landlord services for tenants and leaseholders, currently provided by Redbridge Homes, will again be provided by the Council and will result in annual savings of almost £400,000. Just 17 percent of affected residents responded to the survey. Of those, 63 percent backed the council's plans with nine percent against. The management agreement with Redbridge Homes will end on 31 July 2012. Read more on the Redbridge Council website.
