An ALMO which manages some 3,500 homes in Cumbria is providing up to £2,000 for tenants to voluntarily downsize. South Lakes Housing is hoping the introduction of a downsizing scheme this month will free up some much needed family-sized homes in the district to enable families who are waiting to be housed to move into houses that suit their requirements. The Downsizing Incentive Scheme will provide a mix of financial and practical help with a maximum payment of £2,000. Read more on the South Lakes website.
