Council Brings ALMO Back In-House

Islington council has taken back responsibility for managing 30,000 homes from its ALMO in a move to save up to £2m a year.  The council says it has decided to bring its stock back in-house to help tenants benefit from extra investment.   The move, designed to save up to £2m a year while boosting investment in estate repairs and new home building, will affect 21,500 tenants and 8,000 leaseholders who will now call the council their landlord.
