Tenants Oppose Council Plans to Retake Control of ALMO

Tenants of Derby Homes properties have attacked city council proposals to take the service back under local authority control.  At the housing organisation's 10th anniversary celebrations, some residents said they had "no trust" in the city council but were happy with the service from Derby Homes.  Tenant Janice Platt said: "Under the council, repairs were appalling and the void properties stood empty for a long time.  Derby Homes managed to get that service in a good state – if it went back to the council wouldn't it just go back to what it was used to?"  Since repairs were taken over by Derby Homes, satisfaction levels have gone from 87% to 97.5%.  Read more on the Derby Evening Telegraph website.
