The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has confirmed
that the benefits cap will be introduced across four London boroughs in April. Bromley, Croydon, Enfield and Haringey will be the first areas
in the country hit with the change, with the cap being rolled out across the
rest of the country during the summer. The DWP has allocated £100 million in
Discretionary Housing Payments to help support vulnerable people affected by
this change. The DWP said the benefits cap would be in place across the
whole country “by summer 2013”, rather than from April as previously planned. Read
more on the DWP website.
