Work has begun on Nottingham's
biggest council house building programme for a generation. Costing £2.75 million, phase one of the
programme will see 26 homes built across four Nottingham City Council-owned
sites in the city. The whole project will ultimately see 350 new homes created
by 2017. NCH chief executive, Nick
Murphy, said: "This is the start of a new house building programme that
will be the biggest for a generation – creating much needed family homes. "It will also create hundreds of new
jobs over the next few years – and give our apprentices the opportunity to get
great skills and experience so they have an even better chance of gaining a full
time job once they’ve finished their training." Read more on 24dash.
