English councils have been allocated £236.4 million of new
homes bonus funding in 2013/14 to deliver more than 160,000 homes. The final allocations for the financial year
have been announced, and bring the total number of homes to 160,429, including
58,107 affordable units and 17,945 empty homes brought back into use. The total amount paid to be paid out for
2013/14 is £668.3 million taking into account homes completed in the previous
two years of the scheme. Total allocations since the launch of the bonus in
April 2011 now stand at £1.3 billion.
