New Homes Bonus 'Not Adequately Monitored'

The National Audit Office (NAO) has published a report appraising the CLG's handling of its £1.3 billion New Homes Bonus. The Bonus, which rewards councils for building new houses was to deliver around 140,000 additional properties over 10 years from 2011.  The NAO found that, whilst the scheme's objectives were clear, the DCLG were not monitoring the scheme's impact against its specific expectations.  Download a copy of the report from the NAO website.
