Sharp Homelessness Rise

Benefit cuts, soaring house prices and rents have pushed up homelessness in London three times faster than England as a whole. Statistics obtained by Crisis from the CLG show that in 2012:
    *15,220 London households were accepted as homeless and considered to have met the strict tests to be housed by their local council, a 30 per cent increase on 2011, when 11,680 households were accepted.
    *This compares to the rise in England as a whole of 10 per cent, meaning homelessness in London is rising three times as fast as the nation as a whole
