The number of right to buy sales in England almost
tripled in the period July to September this year compared to the same period
last year, new figures show. Data from the CLG showed that local authorities sold 2,839 dwellings under the right
to buy scheme in the period July to September 2013. This compared to 1,041
dwellings sold by councils under the scheme in the same period in 2012. The
number of sales were up by 668 homes from quarter to quarter. The sales
registered this quarter is the highest number since Q3 2007-08, when the sales
registered were 2,954. Read more on Inside Housing.
