Essential Living has been given planning permission for
the UK's first office-to-residential private rental development. The developer
received the green light for its redevelopment of the 14-storey Berkshire House
office block in Maidenhead, Berkshire by a 10 to one majority by the Royal
Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead. The 1960s tower will be transformed with an
external design of a stainless steel mesh-like frame, wrapped around a glass
