The number of households in England and Wales that owe
more than two months’ rent rose by 3.4 per cent to 67,000 in the fourth quarter
of 2013. The Tenant Arrears Tracker by LSL Property Services found there was a
2,000 increase from the third to the fourth quarter, up from 65,000. It also
found the number of tenants facing eviction notices was up by 11 per cent from
the third quarter in 2013 - 30,807 compared with 27,784.However, landlords’
mortgage arrears have dropped for the fourth quarter in a row, ‘continuing a
