Reforming the private rented sector will be at the core
of Labour’s bid to tackle the housing crisis, the shadow planning minister has
said. Speaking ahead of the British
Property Federation’s annual Residential Conference, where she will give the
key note speech, Roberta Blackman-Wood outlined Labour’s commitment to
reforming the sector. ‘Crucial to building more homes is recognising that we
need to build more homes of all tenures,’ she said. ‘The private rented sector
already plays an important role in meeting the UK’s housing needs but it can do
